Well, getting here has been interesting. I wasn't able to get things ready as quickly as I had hoped and left half an hour after my internal drop-dead time and 1½ hours after I had hoped. So I was a bit stressed. Then Southwest texted me as I was on the 2½ hour trip to the airport...my flight was delayed by 30 then 70 minutes. Phew. But I would have made the original flight anyway.

After finding out my flight was delayed I stopped and texted my wife. Would I be able to catch the Metro once I get to DC. Well, I was going to be able to catch the last run, at least. There was one scheduled just after I was expected to land at 10:39. And then there was the last run at 11:07. Well, that gets me there but it means walking to the hotel from the station around midnight. It was after 10:00 pm last year, so I wasn't terribly concerned.

Of course, I got off at the wrong stop. Luckily, there was one more train running. I got it and checked into the hotel after midnight.
